Recycling at Home

Recycling services vary from location to location. The three main types of recycling services are curbside, drop-off, and buy-back.

• Curbside recycling is the most convenient. Recyclable items are set our for pick up on a specified day.
   
• Drop-off recycling centers are prevalent. Collection containers are placed in convenient locations and residents take recyclables to the sites. Drop-off sites may be attended or unattended. Drop-off sites may be at the same location as the solid waste collection facility. Some drop-off collection systems are mobile and serve several locations.
   
• Buy-back recycling centers pay for recyclables brought to the site. Aluminum can recycling centers are examples of buy-back centers.
