Step 9 - Buy Recycled

Recycling EmblemRecycling hasn't come full circle until the recovered (or collected) materials are used to make new products. Your purchase of recycled-content products and materials is important in stimulating the recycling markets.

Products available with recycled content include office and computer paper, notebooks, forms phone message pads, calculator tape, napkins, toilet paper, paper towels and much more.

Check out the Cooperative Purchasing Program administered by the Office of State Purchasing (301 DFA Building, 1509 W. 7th, PO Box 2940, Little Rock, AR 72203, 501-324-9312 or fax 501-324-9331). Through this program, schools and local governments can purchase many recycled-content products off of state contract; allowing them to take advantage of the price breaks the state gets for buying in large volume.
