2007 Southern Region Water Quality Conference
Urban Grant Programs Tour

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

This tour will highlight the accomplishments of the Rogers Greenways and Trails Committee whose mission is to procure, connect, and develop a unified greenways and trails system, which promotes conservation, restoration, recreation and community interaction.

On June 15, 2005, Rogers City Council approved to the Rogers Greenway and Trails Master Plan for a 50-mile greenway and trail system. A highlight of the Council meeting was the "unveiling" of a $1 million one-for-two challenge grant from the Walton Family Foundation. The Creek has been restored to a healthy condition via grant-supported demonstration projects.
