Dealing with Wildlife

Are wildlife invading your yard? Do you own a farm or business that is losing money because of wildlife? Dealing with Wildlife helps Arkansans with wildlife problems around your home, yard, garden, woodlands, crop fields and pastures, using science-based information from wildlife biologists and university faculty.

Just as a weed is a plant growing in the wrong place, wildlife in the wrong place can be a problem or nuisance. Following are ideas and suggestions for your particular wildlife encounter.

Do-It-Yourself Solutions - Learn how to identify the culprit and solve or prevent problems.

Legal Aspects & Permits - Before taking action, be sure it is legal.

Invasive and Non-Native Wildlife Species - Solutions for non-native species are different from native species.

Health and Safety Issues - Some wildlife diseases are species-specific while others can be transmitted to people.

Species Specifics - Find your nuisance or problem wildlife species with recommended options for dealing with them.

Who to Call - In Arkansas, there is no single organization responsible for handling wildlife problems.

Sick, Injured or Orphaned Wildlife - Has a needy critter wandered your way?

Frequently Asked Questions - Check answers to frequently-asked questions.

Additional Resources - Look at these websites and publications of interest.

Quick Three-Question Survey - Give us your feedback about this website!
